Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our Duplicate Image Remover

What image formats are supported?

We support all major image formats including JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and more. The tool automatically filters out non-image files.

How does the image comparison work?

We use compare image math algorithms to analyze photo content. This smart comparison can find duplicates even when file sizes, compression, or minor edits are different. It's much more accurate than just comparing file names.

Is my data secure?

Absolutely! All image processing happens entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your images never leave your device or get uploaded to any server.

What's the recommended similarity threshold?

For most use cases, 85% works well. Use 90%+ for strict duplicate detection, or 70-80% to catch images with significant edits or different qualities.

Can I process more than 200 images?

The current limit is 200 images to ensure optimal performance in your browser. For larger batches, try processing images in smaller groups.

What happens to removed duplicates?

Removed duplicates are not deleted from your device. The tool only includes your selected "keep" images in the final download ZIP file.
